Purpose
- This symposium took place in May 2009 and was aimed at primary and
secondary school teachers, lecturers,
university students and researchers interested
in CLIL (Content and Language
Integrated Learning).
- The CLIL approach has been praised on
many different grounds, as it is believed
to improve not only foreign language
competence, but also specific language
terminology, intercultural communication,
motivation, implicit and incidental
learning, and communication among teachers
and learners.
- The symposium was held entirely in
English, but it intends to cater for all
those interested in L2 or foreign language
acquisition, as the issues dealt with
should be applicable to any L2.
- Students attending the symposium
obtained 1 credit (libre elección/aukera askea).
